We are just back from a week in Honolulu. Hawaii is one of our favorite places – so beautiful and warm and relaxing!

We always to go to Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral – here’s the kreche – almost lifesize – at St. Pat’s.

We love this time of year – Christmas!
Here are some pictures of Christmas at our house. We like to have two trees – a real one in the living room with our family (and breakable!) ornaments, and an artificial one for the kids in the family room with their ornaments.

Saturday Snapshot: Montserrat, Spain
At the end of our August trip to Europe for the Disney Cruise, we went to Montserrat, outside of Barcelona. What a beautiful place! It is about an hour outside of the city, reachable by train, up in the mountains. Traditionally, Montserrat (meaning “serrated mountains”) was a destination for religious pilgrims. It was so amazingly beautiful. While there, we went into the cathedral and saw the famous “black virgin”. Beautiful and interesting little side trip!

Saturday Snapshot: Ski Lesson
Today was a beautiful 50 degrees, but we still have a ton of snow on the ground, so we took the kids to a nearby ski resort and they had their first lesson!
They had a good time! Dad took a lesson, too. (I read my Kindle – lol).

Here are a few recent shots of the kids playing in the snow in our front yard:
They used their sleds as forts! I have to say they are much heartier than I am. 🙂
Of course this weekend we are losing a lot of the snow as it warms up a bit (from about 15-20 degrees every day to about 40 today!).

Saturday Snapshot: Splash of Color Run!
Last weekend my best girl and I did a local 5K Color Run. If you’ve never heard or done one, they are a walk/run where every half mile you are squirted with colored cornstarch. It was quite fun and celebratory! The origins, as I understand them, are in the Indian celebration of the coming of spring (Holi) – the color is often called Holi color. We started off wearing white shirts and ended up quite multi-colored! 🙂
