I was just admiring some of the showers in my yard (which is fairly wooded). Every year we try to plant a few new things.
This year the peony bush is looking busy. I love the look of these large, beautiful blooms!
I also plant petunias each year. They are quite hardy and do well with our New England weather unpredictability. This was an extra little bloom I put in a pot a few weeks ago:
What’s growing in your yard these days?

Gorgeous! Peonies are my favorite flowers.
I love them, too! I also love hydrangea.
Great photos! We have 5 rose bushes that I was worried we would lose over the winter since it was so much colder than normal. Thankfully they all survived and are thriving. We have a few other plants that we haven’t managed to kill yet.

Unfortunately, we kill things regularly around here. I blame it on the fact that I grew up in California, but now live in New England. I just can’t adjust to the climate difference and the fact that your plants can’t take care of themselves, like they pretty much do in CA!
That peony is gorgeous. It’s winter in Australia, and nothing should be growing, but the autumn was so crazy, that my spring bulbs are up and flowering more than two months early.
I have friends who recently moved to Sydney. They are used to New England winters! 🙂
Lovely flowers. Just stopping by to tell you I nominated your blog for the inspiring blogger award. You can see the post here http://indiewritergirl0329.wordpress.com/2014/06/26/oh-my-the-very-inspiring-blogger-award/ Congrats!
Well, thank you, Hannah! I will need to look into this! 🙂
