Where oh where would I be without my beloved British (the best!) cozy mysteries? They are like a warm cup of tea and an escape from the world. I adore the protagonists (often smart, bold women – and many own dogs). This series is a historical one which adds to my delight. And honestly, you can read these books out of order or just read a few, but I’ve read them all, I believe, and I am always in awe that I could have read over 20 of these books and never found them predictable or boring.

This one was fun as it starts with Eleanor at the Palace. She is a bit cheeky and certainly never a shrinking violet. She gets involved in yet another murder. I thought this one was particularly well-plotted – and, as always, fun!

I love this series of cozy mysteries featuring Lady Eleanor Swift. They remind me of Rhys Bowen’s Lady Georgie mysteries or Fliss Chester’s Cressida Fawcett historical cozies. I love the elements of 1920’s fashion and fun. This one was a true “murder on the Nile” locked room mystery. One thing I love about this series, though, is that while I’m working to figure out the clues and who the murderer is, I’m often laughing out loud at Lady Eleanor and her antics.

I love this series of cozy mysteries featuring Lady Eleanor. If you enjoy Rhys Bowen’s Royal Spyness series, or Fliss Chester’s historical mysteries, you would most probably enjoy this series as well! They are always well-plotted and clever, and you can read them as stand-alones or all in order. I have not read all of them but have enjoyed the ones I have read. Of course I enjoy just about anything that takes place in England and is historical!
