I’m happy to take part in the blog tour for The Night It Ended by Katie Garner. This was a suspenseful read, with an unreliable narrator (not my favorite POV). It was good and it kept me guessing. I always like stories that take place in boarding schools, too!

Recommended if you enjoy mysteries that keep you on the edge of your seat. I felt oddly uncomfortable while reading- almost like someone was watching me (seriously!).

Kelly Rimmer may just be my favorite author. I love her writing and her stories. This historical fiction novel was another top read for me– focusing on three female SOE operatives in France during WWII. It was suspenseful and exciting, and toggled between WWII and current day (well, it was more like the 1970’s but close enough!).

I’m currently reading this beautifully written and evocative book – a coming-of-age story of a young girl and her family as they summer on Cape Cod.

I’m super excited to share today that I’ve created a podcast for my blog! In the spirit of lifelong learning, I managed to figure out how to record and post a podcast and you can find it under “Beth’s Book-Nook Blog” on Spotify. It’s called “2 by 2: 2 books in less than 2 minutes”. I operate under the assumption that the average person doesn’t have much time to read long blog posts or listen to lengthy chats about books, so I highlight two books in less than two minutes so folks can get to reading!

Right now it’s on Spotify and also Apple Podcasts.

I would have cross posted here (or started here) but while I have “paid WordPress” I do not have the Premium WordPress, so I cannot upload audio files! In fact, I can’t even upload a link to share where you can find it on Spotify.

Spotlight on SAINT JERK by D.J. Dixon

I’m excited to take part in the tour for this new suspenseful, thriller: My Husband’s House. I liked it a lot and could barely put it down; however, I will admit that I was frustrated with the main character in the last third of the story and I did not care for the very ending (which I found abrupt).

If you like twisty, suspenseful reads, pick this one up and give it a whirl!

After the demise of the Soviet Union, the newly-established Russian government privatized its industry by issuing vouchers to all of its citizens, allowing them the chance to be shareholders in the country’s burgeoning businesses. For the country’s rural populations living in abject poverty, the vouchers appear to be little more than pieces of paper, totally separated from the far-off concept of potential future fortunes.
